" Whatever it takes to raise funds for a good cause rang true and this time it was to step up and dance the night away. Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association (APAHA), held its 19th Annual Gala with the theme “Dancing With The Stars” on Friday, May 13 at the Omni Houston Hotel on 4 Riverway. The Gala was sold out with 350 guests including prominent community, civic, corporate and business leaders. The highlights of the Gala were the “Dancing With The Stars” dance performances of 4 local Asian celebrities in dazzling costumes with professional dancers and presentation of four APAHA Annual Awards. The Asian/Pacific American Heritage Associations 18th Anniversary Gala, held on May 7th will celebrate Asian/Pacific Americans and businesses that have advanced Asian Pacific American Heritage. 2010 Gala Award Honorees

George H.W. Bush Heritage: Performing Visual Arts and Literature Master, Baayork Lee.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Tough Community leader, the lovely Norma Benzon.

Outstanding Community Achievement Award: Chinese Community Center. The beloved Chinese Community Center has been providing support to the Greater Houston Chinese Community and serving a wide range of Asian ethnic communities in Houston with excellent services and programs.

Outstanding Corporate Achievement: Fiesta Mart, Inc. Fiesta has established an achievement far surpassing the award being received with its immense support for the APA Community.


Your attendance will assist in the initiatives and projects funded by APAHA which include: APA Distinguished Speaker Series, The finale May Festival, and the future APAHA scholarship fund.
